What happens if my flight is delayed?

Tell us your flight number when you book and we track it. If you land late we move the tour, shorten it or reschedule it at no extra cost.

Overview

You leave Sharm around eleven at night, reach the monastery car park at two in the morning, and start walking. The camel path climbs steadily for two and a half hours to a plateau, then 750 rough-cut steps take you the last stretch to the summit — the traditional site where Moses received the Ten Commandments.

Sunrise from 2,285 metres over the Sinai range is the reason 40,000 people a year do this. On the way down you visit St Catherine's Monastery, founded in 565 AD and continuously inhabited ever since, which holds the second-largest collection of early codices and icons in the world after the Vatican, and a bush the monks maintain as the Burning Bush.

It is a serious walk. Bring warm layers — it can be near freezing at the summit even in summer — and a torch.
