Overview

The Sound and Light show is worth seeing and considerably better with dinner in front of it. You eat first, on a rooftop in the village at the foot of the plateau, at a table facing the Great Pyramid — close enough that it takes up most of the sky. The kitchen is Egyptian and unfussy: mezze to start, a grill or a tagine to follow, and mint tea after.

When the light goes, you walk down to the show. The pyramids and the Sphinx are lit in sequence while the narration runs through four thousand years of the plateau's history, and the Sphinx itself does most of the talking. Seating is reserved, so you are not hunting for a place in the dark.

Check the language of the evening's narration when you book — it rotates, and we will tell you which nights are English.

  • Bring a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen; shade is limited at open-air sites.

Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time for a full refund. Cancellations inside 24 hours are non-refundable, but we will always try to move your date instead.
