Overview

From the river, Cairo is another city. The boat slips away from its Zamalek moorings after dark and drifts between the lit-up bridges while dinner is served: an open buffet of about forty dishes — Egyptian mezze, grills, international mains and a table of desserts.

The show is the real thing, not a gesture. A live band plays oud and tabla, a professional belly dancer performs a full set, and the Tanoura — a whirling dance with Sufi roots — spins in a skirt lit from the inside. It lasts two hours, window tables can be requested, and soft drinks are included all evening.

    The buffet opens as the boat leaves the bank.

    Tanoura show

    Return to your hotel
